Pre/Post Trip @ Midnight

Driver starts a shift at 19:00 does a Pre-Trip and finishes their run at 03:00 does a Post-Trip for that 8 hour shift.
By driving thru the midnight hour the system looks for a Post Trip for Day 1 and a Pre Trip for Day 2 even though it's 1 trip and only an 8 hour shift. This generates "missing Pre/Post trip" violations that aren't violations at all. This needs to be corrected.
No where in the regs does it say before midnight you have to pull over and do a post trip and then after midnight do a pre trip. The system should not be calling this a violation.
